Their goal is to bring back the motor lodge feel with a modern twist. Please bear with us as we remodel the property as quickly as we can. We are so excited to show you the plans we have for Reed’s Lodge!
Nestled in a protected, pastoral valley at the foot of the beautiful White Mountains, our lodge offers quick, easy access to fishing, hunting and outdoor recreation in the magnificent Apache National Forest. We are minutes away from the amazing Casa Malpais Archaeological Park, popular Sunrise Ski Resort and all White Mountain area attractions and activities. We are located on Hwy 60/180/191 in Springerville, Arizona which, along with its sister town of Eagar, occupies Round Valley or "Valley Redondo" as it was named by the area's first Spanish settlers.
Built in 1949 to serve early day travelers on US 60, the nation's first coast to coast highway, Reed's retains its relaxed country atmosphere. Many rooms boast beautifully warm, locally milled aged knotty pine walls or log beams from the adjacent Apache National Forest. Some are individually decorated with art by outstanding local artists who are featured in our lobby. Outdoor porch supports are made of large juniper and pine logs, adding more western character. Our grounds feature casual, country landscaping with several lawns, a variety of trees, and colorful flowers in season.
Film legend, John Wayne, owned 26 Bar Ranch located West of town off highway 260 and often was seen at Reed's playing cards with the local ranchers.
Our guests enjoy making themselves at home, relaxing by the beautiful lobby fireplace enjoying fresh brewed coffee and swapping big fish, hunting and ski adventures. We've even got a place to barbecue on the back lawn.
THINGS TO DO
The White Mountains are famous for trout fishing and there are over forty cold-water lakes and 500 miles of streams. The rare Apache Trout can only be found here, along with cutthroat, brook, rainbow and brown trout. Our lower lakes also offer bass, walleye and northern pike, catfish and sunfish. You can fill your ice chests with all the free ice you need for your outdoor adventures. We are happy to point you to near by children's playgrounds or a variety of hiking trails and wildlife areas.
We hope you'll sense the pride of local family ownership and small town comfort charm at historic Reed's Lodge. You'll feel the difference the moment you step in the door. A modern motel with a range of rooms for everyone; families on vacation, hunters, pets, and business. Step back in time to a nicer, friendlier place.
